The Consulate General of India in Vladivostok together with Indian Films Russia and Illuzion Cinema is organizing Indian Film Week - Indian Summer from June 3 – June 9, 2024 at Ussuri Cinema located on st. Svetlanskaya, 31 in Vladivostok. Today India is the world’s largest producer of films and These films carry a message of India’s strength in storytelling across the world. These are times when good content knows no boundaries and Indian content is going from local to global. The Indian Film Week starts on June 3rd with "RRR", its hit track "Naatu Naatu" became the first Indian film song to win an Oscar. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the 'song will be remembered for years to come.' It is followed by some of the most popular Indian movies like Vikram, Pathaan, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pushpa: The Rise.

This is for the first time in Vladivostok a week long screening of Indian films is being organized and it is hoped that with Indian Film Week - Indian Summer more Indian movies would reach wider audiences in Russia and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the people of India and Russia. The Indian Film Week is an opportunity to understand what brings Indians and Russians together through films. Bringing recent Indian films to Russian audiences helps broaden Russian understanding of India's vibrant and multi-faceted culture.
